ABOUT
My sister and I in the eighties.
Me in the twenty-twenties.
Moi! I'm Niina, a Finnish illustrator and surface pattern designer now living in Austria. I illustrate children's books, create and license artwork for textiles and stationery.
I love Finnish summer, its moderate temperatures and nightless nights. In winter I'm happy, when there's lots of snow. As I grew up in the Finnish Lakeland, it is the lakes, calm beaches and the Finnish sauna that I miss the most in Austria. On the other hand, I enjoy sunny and bright winter days and the mountain landscapes in Austria. I like to go hiking in summer, cross-country skiing in winter and to sauna all year round (there are saunas also in Austria, although the sauna culture is completely different).
